Why Assess Yourself? The scriptures encourage us to take inventory regularly. To search ourselves. To evaluate who we are and what we do in the light of God’s standards.

Indeed, self-examination is a Biblical mandate because it’s a pathway to growth. And it’s for this reason that we created Assess Yourself, a free and anonymous online service. Here you will find scientifically-designed tools from researchers at Charleston Southern University and Regent University — tools that will help you to better understand your strengths, your weaknesses, and your gifts.

The psalmist, for instance, counsels us to look deeply within – to “search [our] hearts” (Psalm 4:4), and Solomon offers the proverbial guidance: “the wisdom of the prudent is to give careful thought to their ways” (Proverbs 14:8). The New Testament speaks even more plainly to the issue in passages like 1 Corinthians 11:28 (“A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup”), 2 Corinthians 13:5 (“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.”) or Galatians 6:4 (“Each one should test his own actions”).
