Baby Dedications and Other Special Occasions
Today at the Church plant we attend (Life at the Ridge) they had three baby dedications. I think it was our largest attendance every, with grandparents, family and friends of the three couples dedicating their children. It reminded me how important it is to maximize important events (Water Baptism, Baby Dedications) as a means to connect with extended family and attendees friends.
My pastor, Josh Hebert, prepared a neat card that was given to everyone who attends. For many of the extended families, I am sure it will be a keep sake to remember the day. For the remainder of church, it was a reminder to support and pray for these families and children. I thought it was an excellent idea and have attached a photo of the card. Sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest impact.
As you look ahead, you may want to consider ways to maximize Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter. What are ways you could connect with people who have no faith, but religious memory? How could you make these days memorable? How about a water baptism on Easter celebrating new life?
